WBF - Grants

The Foundation invites applications from Categories A & B. Category A would ideally suit former winners of the William Boyle U21 competition, although we would also expect applicants from a wider catchment. Category B would ideally suit "seasoned" competent A Grade pipers who have a strong competition record and wish to expand their personal boundaries and goals in Scotland.

Important Footnotes:

Successful "Foundation Grant" applicants will be expected to pass on knowledge and experience gained for the benefit of New Zealand Piping generally.

This is particularly important in the tuition area and the Foundation would expect a strong commitment and involvement in any Foundation-led initiatives.

The William Boyle Foundation Grant will be in the form of an economy return airfare to Scotland.

The Foundation reserves the right not to award a "Foundation Grant" in any particular year if circumstances warrant it to do so.

Applications Close 28th February each year. Notification to all applicants will be advised by 30th May.

WBMF subsistence award:

The Trustees have recently decided to make $500 awards to senior NZ pipers competing in the major Scottish competitions in order to assist those individuals to meet their solo piping campaign expenses. Consideration for these awards will be based upon information provided by applicants. Qualifying details and conditions have not yet been finalised, but will be notified soon.
